Chapter 49

The mansion looked more like a Victorian castle with a long stone fence bordering the mansion. The gates opened automatically and Joseph drove us into the lush compound. While outside I could see nothing but the house and the huge fence and gate but now that I was inside my eyes nearly popped out of my sockets.

 The compound was surrounded by plant and concrete sculptures. There was a wide water fountain with an angel at its peak. She had water gushing out of her eyes. The entrance to the beautiful mansion was littered with all kinds of custom-made sports cars. Joseph drove past everything and brought the car to a stop in the garage. A middle-aged man stood waiting outside the car and ran to meet us as we alighted.

“Welcome home Master Joseph, I assume you had a good trip.” He said with a smile that revealed his crooked teeth.

“The trip here was splendid, Marcus. I must have forgotten how much I used to love this country's air.” My husband replied with a dashing smil
