“Don’t disturb me, Adriel. I’m still working. If you want to talk about something else, we can do it during the lunch break,” Adam said without even looking at the young man who had barged into his office without permission.

Adam remained calm, though. If it had been someone else, they might have received an earful by now.

“Boss, you really should hear me out… today…” Adriel tried to speak, but Adam interrupted him.

“Did you have your annual medical check-up?” Adam’s question irritated him, and he rolled his eyes.

“Yes, I already did…”

“That’s good,” Adam acknowledged before continuing his work.

Adriel didn’t seem to mind Adam’s aloofness and was determined to share his thoughts before leaving. “I saw your sister-in-law at the hospital while I was getting my annual medical check-up. She had just come out of the psychiatric department, holding a prescription.”
