Chapter 14
Grace took the pillow and blanket from the couch and placed them on the bed. She put the pillow between them on the king-sized bed and arranged the blanket accordingly.
“Perfect…” Grace muttered, even though she typically preferred things to be neat and orderly. But now, despite her knowledge of that preference, she couldn’t stop herself from acting in a somewhat childish manner.
She lay down on the bed and, in her weariness, completely forgot about her diary, which she usually kept close, even during sleep. As soon as she closed her eyes, she drifted off into slumber. Perhaps she was just exhausted from the emotional turmoil of throwing things on the floor.

About an hour later, Adam entered the room to get some rest. He had just finished reading the documents needed for the next day’s meeting and was equally drained.
