At that moment, outside, echoing footsteps grew louder, and the ground trembled violently, as if it foretold impending danger. The werewolf guards at the gate exchanged glances and nodded. They swiftly turned and strained to close the gate, separating themselves from the approaching werewolves.
The footsteps drew nearer, and the gate guards knew they couldn’t hold on much longer. One of them urgently said to the other, “You run in and inform the alpha quickly.”
Seeing the other werewolf hesitate, the first one urged, “Hurry, Blue Moon pack is mobilizing. If we don’t act fast, both of us will die here.”
Viktor’s soldiers had arrived at the gate, shouting loudly, “Open the gate! Release Miss Kattie quickly.”
As if a swarm of bees had broken their hive, their voices overwhelmed each other, growing louder with each passing moment.
“Release Miss Kattie! Don’t blame our alpha for being ruthless.”
