Alex POV

I had just ended the call with one of our foreign suppliers when the door opened without a knock. I was ready to scold the intruder until I saw who it was.

“Mother?” I called in surprise.

She walked in gracefully, her shiny silver hair was let down and there was a small smile on her face. “Alexander. You refused to pick my calls so I came here to see you”

She settled into the chair.

“Is everything okay?”

“We are having a family dinner tomorrow night. I told Amber already”

My jaws clenched involuntarily. “I won’t be attending”

“What? We haven’t had a family dinner in years”

“As long as he’s there, I’m not coming” I said flatly.

She narrowed her eyes, studying me with careful intensity. “What do you have against your father?”

“I’m busy. I don’t have time for this. I’m sure you have better things to do”

“Actually, no. The coven is in good condition. The pack is doing well, so I’m not busy. This is n
