Amber POV

The music in the bar thumped loudly, vibrating through the floor. I sat on a high stool, sipping my third glass of vodka.

Leo leaned against the counter beside me, a small smirk on his face. I had to admit, he was good company, always ready with a sarcastic comment to make me laugh.

“He completely abandoned me” I whispered, swirling the content in the glass. “Ever since he took that stupid, fancy position, it’s like I don’t exist anymore”

Leo raised a brow. “What position?”

I waved a hand. “It’s complicated. You wouldn’t understand and you’re better off not knowing anyway”

His eyes lingered on me a while longer. “Want to get out of here? I would like to take you somewhere less….. crowdy”

I heard a deep familiar growl. I looked up and realized Cedric stood behind Leo, a thunderous look on his face.

Leo stiffened and looked back, then he gave a small nod.

“I guess we will talk later” he slid off the stool and left
