Chapter 121

Alex POV

I sat in my study scanning through the paperwork on my desk when I was informed that all the elders were in the council room, waiting to speak to me.

I swung the door to the council room open. They all stood up and bowed deeply but they had grave, disapproving looks on their faces.

I immediately understood. They found out I brought Elsie into the territory.

I took my seat at the head of the table and they did the same. They had spies planted in the pack house, no doubt. That must be why the news travelled so fast. The fire crackled loudly in the stone fireplace as I patiently waited for them to speak.

“My Alpha, we heard a rumour that you brought a human into our sacred territory” Elder William started.

A dry, harsh bark of laughter escaped my throat. “A rumor?”

They exchanged glances among themselves and another elder said, “We wanted to be certain so we came…..”

“It’s true” I cut in, the smile fading from my lips. “He
