Mia POV

I stirred when I heard a whimpering sound followed by soft shushing.

I tried to pry my eyes open, staring at the ceiling of the brightly lit room. I sat up but it only worsened the throbbing pain in my head. This caught Kate’s attention.

“Goddess! You’re awake” Kate whispered, sitting by my bed with Cedric’s in her arms. “You’ve been asleep since yesterday”

I looked around. “Where the hell am I and why are you whispering”

“The pack house”

I whipped my head sharply. “What?”

“I’m sure you already have the answer to your second question. No one can find you here, hence, the whispering”

“How did I get here?”

“Micheal found you passed out at the secret entrance with your twin pups.” She narrowed her eyes. She stopped whispering but her voice remained lowered. “I’ve got a lot of questions to ask you but I won’t because right now, you need more rest”
