Chapter 177. The Escape Continues
He opened his eyes, surprised to see the tall, pale man holding onto him; however, even before he had a chance to speak, he sensed the creature heading directly in his direction. Caivan quickly turned and launched himself at the wolf that was now sprinting at full force in his direction, hoping to stop it before it reached him.
Unfortunately, the creature was faster than he anticipated and the guard had barely had enough time to dodge its attack before it hit. His opponent landed squarely on its back as it landed; the guard winced at the sudden impact and watched in horror as the wolf began tearing furiously at his comrade, tearing flesh and blood from its body.
The guard’s eyes widened as he watched the other wolf jump on top of the first, attempting to devour it, when he heard another set of heavy steps approach.
