Chapter 179. Old Faces

As Quain walked off towards a nearby cave, he noticed a small hut a few yards to his left. As he moved closer, he could hear voices inside; they definitely appeared to be human. Carefully he made his way over, not wanting to alert whatever occupants were inside. Once he arrived, however, he froze upon seeing who was inside. It was Saelyna.

Caivan had hid her there when he went to lose track of the rogue wolf on their tail.

At first he thought about waking her up to tell her that they were safe; but instead he decided to sit and watch from afar for a while. For a few minutes he was silent and observed her carefully; she appeared to be sleeping peacefully as she held the bottle in her hand.

When she began twitching slightly, he figured that she had woken up from one of the nightmares that had plagued her since they set off on their expedition into the wilds. He smiled inwardly; maybe she’s finally gotten over those nightmares.
