Chapter 49. Dinner Plans
“I was wondering why you decided to come to Florida all of a sudden,” said my new assistant, Tristan.
“I came here because my mom told me to,” I tried to clarify.
“No, you came to meet Veronica Wilshire,” he chirped. Tristan did his work well, but he was a chatterbox. I know I shouldn't miss Dean who was responsible for Veronica and my split up, but dang, I missed him.
I exasperated a sigh and leaned on my seat. I didn't want to waste my breath arguing about something that I clearly was lying about.
Even though it was my mom who suggested that I should take a break from work since I have been spending my time in the office even after nightfall and weekends, I actually came here to get a glimpse of Veronica from afar. I know I could have done that in LA, but there were always too many people around her there.
