[Flashback]
“Congratulations, you’re eighteen and no longer a responsibility of the state or my fucking problem. Pack up and get the fuck out.”
Normal people would have woken up to their families singing happy birthday to them. At least that’s what I thought happened with kids who lived in normal homes with families.
I don’t have a family like normal people, and as of today, I’m no longer a kid which is a good thing.
It means I’m finally free from this hell of a place called a foster home and I’m especially free from the monster standing in front of me.
“What are you staring at?”
“Nothing,” I whispered softly, avoiding her gaze.
