Liana’s POV

I stared at my phone long after I ended the call with Lena. My heart was beating fast as her words rang in my ear, ‘Madison was attacked.’

Sitting on the bench under a peach blossom tree, I held my chest as I forced myself not to cry but I still couldn’t hold it in.

‘Why would you let something like that happen to Madison?” I asked the Moon Goddess. “It’s not fair.”

When I got home that evening, I had to force myself to eat because of my baby but I still couldn’t bring myself to sleep well too.
