Lucas’s POV

Caleb parked the car barely ten minutes after Lena and I spoke. I stepped out immediately, my eyes scanning the hospital parking lot out of habits.

I saw Lena’s, parked in its usual spot and I nodded, knowing that she was waiting in her office.

“Stay here,” I told Caleb and headed inside the main building.

The hospital smelled of antiseptic which I had gotten used to from being married to Lena. I was halfway down the corridor toward her office when a nurse came out of one of the rooms and stopped with a confused look on her face.

“Alpha, are you here for Doctor Lena?” she asked politely when she recognised me and I nodded. “Your wife left a few minutes ago.”
