Throughout the night, I couldn’t bring myself to sleep no matter how tightly I shut my eyes or how many times I turned on the bed, my mind kept dragging me back to Lena.

The thought of her somewhere out there, scared and alone, made my chest ache painfully.

I sat up with a sigh and hugged my knees to my chest. I didn’t know when tears began to roll down my cheeks. It was even more painful than I couldn’t do anything after everything she did for me.

My phone ringing interrupted my thoughts and I quickly wiped my tears to check who was calling. My heart stopped for a moment when I saw that it was Ian calling me a few minutes past midnight.
