Lena’s POV
As I drove to the mall, I called Theo to inform him and we ended up meeting at the mall. I was searching for the perfect gift for his parents and he told me that his father was out of town and I shouldn’t worry about him.
I ended up buying a jewelry set and a scarf because Mrs. Harrington likes to collect expensive scarfs. Her outfits were never complete without a scarf.
Theo gave me a ride to his parents house, so I left my car at the mall though they made me pay for it.
As we walked into the house, the smell of roasted chicken and freshly baked bread hit me. My stomach growled in response, I couldn’t help but smile
“You guys are late,” his mother teased from the doorway, her apron dusted with flour.
“It’s all Lena’s fault. She spent a long time in the mall picking out gifts,” Theo quickly explained and pushed the blame on me.
