Chapter 55. A Huge Joke on My Life

Lena’s POV

After finishing his dinner, Lucas was driving us home when it started to rain lightly. Then it turned into a downpour with thunder and lighting.

I looked out at the blurred night scene outside the window and memories of how I got into my current situation flashed in my mind.

Everything happened on a rainy night too. When I went to my father for money for my mother’s surgery, I received a lot of insults and almost got run over by Nina.

As if that wasn’t enough, I caught my asshole of a mate cheating on me with my so-called best friend. Out of options, I ended in a contract marriage with an Alpha whose heart still belongs to his first love and it didn’t help that I was starting to fall for him.

And now, stupid me was about to ask my contract husband to save my family’s company from going bankrupt because of the guilty conscience toward my grandparents.
