“What do you mean by it will break me?” I asked, not quite understanding what he was going on about. Hunter had already broken me with his tortures; what more breaking could I endure?
He released a sigh and leaned forward, copying my action. “I don’t want to be a third party here. But seeing you suffer makes me feel guilty when I know you knew nothing about it,” he hushed out.
“If it really makes you guilty, isn’t it fair enough to tell me?”
“I can’t,” an exasperated breath escaped me. “Which means you’re no different from Hunter. Whatever you two are hiding, I will find out,” I deadpanned, standing up. My glass of pina colada was already empty. I didn’t know when I gulped the remainder down.
“It will break you,” he said just as I was about to walk away.
“Whether it does or not, that’s none of your business. You’ve already made it clear to me that you’re scared of Hunter since you can’t do anything when you know what he’s doing
