I dialed Ian’s number as I bit my bottom lip. I needed my answers. Hunter couldn’t be turning my head around with his riddles. I didn’t know why he mentioned my Mom. When I asked, he changed the topic. Getting it solved without Mom’s interference was better. I didn’t want her to get involved in it. Not when she was still keen on finding the person behind my kidnapping. If she came to know about the mate stuff, it would be worse. At least I should figure things out before then.
I dialed his line again for the second time, and it got picked up. “Hello,” his voice sounded like someone who had just woken up from sleep.
“It’s Rose. Sorry for disturbing you. It looks like you’re in a deep sleep,” I said.
“Oh no, Rose. It’s okay. I zoned off, actually. I’d have to thank you for the call. So what’s up?” His voice was clearer now.
