We were finally done with the back-to-back lectures for the day and prepared to head home. I noticed Nora was suspiciously quiet all through. I didn’t know whether it was because Blake was absent or if it was something else. I was convinced that Nora did like Blake, but whenever I asked her about it, she would deny or dodge the question.

“Um… Nora, is everything okay?” I started, wanting to hear her opinion first.

“Yeah. Everything is okay. I’m fine,” she answered without even looking at me. I stopped in my tracks, yet she kept walking, not noticing my action.

“Nora,” I called, but there was silence.

I rushed up to her and stopped her by pulling on her shoulder. “Hmm?” She looked out of space and somewhat confused.

“You don’t look okay. Are you sure you’re fine?” I asked with worry laced in my voice. She heaved out a sigh. “Yes. Just kinda down, but I will be fine.”
