Chapter 78. Guilty Feelings
Evelyn’s POV
“Everything is fine. We have what we came for. My mate and my child are safe,” Nolan said firmly.
“And Griffin? Why is he still breathing?” Rowan hissed, pointing down at Griffin, sitting up and watching intently.
“Rowan. What a surprise to see you again.” Griffin said with a hint of sarcasm.
“He killed the baddies, and I saved him,” Ethan spoke proudly, bursting with happiness. He stuck out his chest, causing me to stifle a bout of laughter.
Atlas, a tall figure with a commanding presence, stepped forward. His eyes scanned the scene, taking in the defeated bodies and the bloodied form of Griffin. “Griffin fought them alone?”
“That’s correct.” Griffin raised his eyebrows as if it were no big deal.
“We didn’t get here in time,” Nolan quickly replied, a hint of frustration creeping into his voice. “But we need to move quickly. We can’t risk Ethan being seen out here, not after what he just did.”
Rowan nodded gravely.
