Sofia’s POV

“Why are you in the kitchen at five in the morning?” I heard Sterling’s raspy voice behind me, It took me by surprise.

“Can you not sneak up on me like that?” I scowled.

“You didn’t answer my question.” He moved by me and reached into the refrigerator for a bottle of orange juice.

“Today is Steel’s birthday. I wake him up every year with a birthday cupcake.” I removed the first batch of cupcakes from the oven and placed the second one inside.

“What didn’t you inform me that it’s his birthday?”

“Well, I thought you knew.” I shrugged.

Without saying anything more, he left. I ignored his action and went back to work on the cupcakes. As I was finishing them up, Sterling stopped by once again.

“Does he like amusement parks?”

I didn’t see him coming in, so I jumped a little when I heard his voice.

“You startled me again.” I rolled my eyes.

“And to answer your question. Yes.”
