Chapter 23

Paige’s POV

After waiting for Gabriel for several hours, I didn’t see him. I went into the room a few minutes after Crystina did. I laid on the bed, in hopes that he would come, and unknowingly sleep did. I didn’t know when I doze off or how long I’d been asleep but at some point, it felt as if someone opened the door and walked into the room.

When I turned on my sides, I examined the figure and realized it was Gabriel. Even though his entire appearance was blurry but as he moved closer to me, I could see him probably.

His eyes were still pitch black and I almost wish they weren’t. I suddenly longed for the warmness in those blue and green eyes but I knew they were gone because of me. His fist was clenched and I could still see the same tightness in his jaws. He looked as though he wanted to murder someone but stopped himself.

I sat up from the bed as he walked closer to the foot of the bed.
