Chapter 24

Paige’s POV

My eyes fluttered open and I took in my surroundings. It was morning already and I was in bed. I noticed almost immediately that I wasn’t alone. My legs were tangled with that of another person while my head was on someone’s chest. His arms were around my back while his other hand was in my hair.

I managed to lift my head and saw it was Gabriel. Immediately, I panicked. I thrashed in his arms, trying to break free from his strong hold but he was stronger, he didn’t want me to.

"Let me go," I screamed, holding his hand tightly. He removed his hand from my hair and untangled our legs but he still pinned me down to the bed.

Our eyes met and I saw he was smiling. I blinked twice, thinking I was dreaming again. "Stop smiling like that, you look like a creep," I mumbled under my breath.

He laughed. In fact, his smile made my heart race and I almost smiled back at him but I forced myself not to.
