Chapter 104. Back-Ends
My face twitched, and my lips tightened as the screeching sound of Mathew’s yells in agony pierced through my ears. Images of the night before flashed through my mind.
I could see myself digging my claws into Mathew’s chest, crushing the green crystal along with his heart as he writhed in anguish, pushing his palms against my shoulders and face in a futile attempt to push me away.
My teeth clenched, and my brows drew closer as more disturbing images flashed in my head.
His eyelids parted as far as they could, and his pupils shrank as tears rolled out of his eyes. Blood spilled from his mouth as my hand burst out of his back, holding the crystal shards and small chunks of his flesh. Green smoke rose from the pieces of the crystal, and out of the fading emerald mist came the whispers of numerous souls.
