Chapter 108. Investigation
The early morning sun shined its brightest, bathing the entire royal district of eastern Andreia with its warm glow. The air, alive with the sound of carriage wheels and horse hooves click-clacking across the cobblestone roads, lingered with the chill accompanying the white powder that bathed the city endlessly.
A group of Andreian soldiers, led by General Victor, marched through a dimly lit passage in the palace the morning after the Royal Ceremony. The general wore a large fur coat over his armor to protect himself from the blistering cold. The night before, the Valtorians who attacked the ceremony were defeated by the Andreian soldiers present, and those who were left alive for questioning committed suicide by swallowing drugs they concealed beneath their tongues.
