Chapter 109. The Campaign
The morning came alive with the cheers of the common folk, marking the beginning of the southern duke’s campaign to garner the support of the eastern city people. The duke, lord Earnest, knew contesting for the throne was ultimately futile as the priestess had already chosen the king but had a clear plan for how his campaign would play out to capture the love and adoration of the people. Even if he couldn’t become the king, he could at least secure an office beside him.
First, parades would be held in the three districts of eastern Andreia to display his boundless wealth and capabilities, and he would invite some of the wealthiest people in the city to a feast in hopes of getting their support.
