Chapter 115. Deserted

“Are those who I think they are?” Moriah asked, sticking her head out of a carriage we were in and blinking twice, watching as six horses rode further away behind us as we rode through a street in the Back-ends, headed to the royal district to see the priestess.

“Who are you talking about?” I asked, turning to Moriah.

“Knights. They just rode past us. They had white cloaks with golden crosses and were all fancy-looking,” Moriah described—terribly, if I might add. But her very sparse details were enough for me to understand who she was referring to. Only one group of knights donned the cloak adorned with the golden cross of the moon goddess.

“The lunar knights? What are they doing here?” I asked, my eyes widening with shock.

“It could be that Steven is trying to find you. Maybe he’s found a way to clear your name?” Moriah replied, turning to me, her wavering smile betraying her uncertainty.

“Or they could be here to arrest me,” I pouted as I turned away
