“Priestess?” I uttered softly, taking a step toward her bed while Moriah busied herself with bringing in the two unconscious soldiers and guarding the door so no one would walk in.
The priestess sat up, and her blanket dropped from her head, revealing her tangled locks and silver nightgown. “Celene?” She asked, turning to her left.
“Do my ears deceive me, or were you crying just now?” I asked, stopping just before her bed.
The priestess let out a sigh and returned her gaze forward. “What does it matter? I know you’re here because of the ceremony. I lied against you, and the people of Andreia hate you now more than ever.” She spoke softly before saying with another heavy sigh, “I’m sorry.”
