Chapter 118. Reconciliation
Steven paced quietly through the dimly lit passages of the castle late at night, his footsteps echoing loudly for a few seconds before fading out completely. He walked past maids and guards who were working night shifts and waved his hands to greet them. The other knights had retired to their homes, but being the next king of Andreia, Steven had to stay in the castle for his own safety.
After a few minutes of walking, he arrived in front of the priestess’s door, stopping before the two guards who stood in front of the door.
“Lord Steven, you shouldn’t be up so late,” the guard on the left spoke.
“I’d like to see the priestess; both of you should take a walk around for half an hour before coming back here,” Steven ordered, his tone stern and his brows furrowed.
“But, Lord Steven. We were ordered by the general to stand guard here,” the second guard spoke, his voice unsteady.
