“Did you think Prince Rowan chose to send you to the forest of the Damned just because he felt like it? Prince Rowan has great plans for you, Celene. Everything that happened during your last days in Andreia, from your stepmother's murder to your execution, was planned by Prince Rowan himself.”

Calliope’s voice echoed in my head as I swung my wooden sword forcefully at a young, male esquire who Moriah had assigned to be my opponent for the day. My face was covered in sweat, and my palms had become red because of my tight grip on the sword’s handle.
