Chapter 79. Demon Hungry
Rhys walked into the living room and found Lady Madelyn in a chair on one end of an unusually shaped dining table the coach driver delivered after the cleaning process of the house was done. Made in the royal district of the eastern city, the table’s legs were made of metal, extending from the table's edges and curving inwards and downwards toward its center. Instead of a rectangular table, its edges were carved into different-sized curves that made it look like a brown paint splatter.
A candlelit chandelier that hung over the table and a few lanterns hanging on the walls illuminated the living room brightly.
Lady Madelyn held a newspaper, her eyes focused on the bold and little words written on it.
“My lady, breakfast is ready. Should we begin serving?” Rhys asked, stopping at the opposite end of the table.
