Chapter 63. As a Man

"Are you now willing to admit that your worries are just a waste of energy?" Julian whispered before letting go of Mia's hand so he could pull up a chair for the girl.

"It's not over, Sir. I'll keep an eye on it. If you intentionally make Miss Johnson angry, I will take back the apology I gave yesterday,” Mia threatened in a low voice.

"I'd do anything to make you happy, Mia," Julian sighed before pulling up the chair next to the secretary.

Seeing Julian take the place by her side, the girl's eyes widened again. "Why are you sitting here, Sir?" she sighed with raised eyebrows in astonishment.

“Isn't my purpose in coming here to get acquainted with Miss Johnson? It will be awkward if I sit next to her. After all, our necks will hurt if we keep looking to the side every time we talk," the man implied with an innocent look.

"But you can sit there," Mia argued while pointing to another chair across the table, "and Miss Johnson is still facing you."
