Chapter 10. Why Did He Summon Her?
“Eat up, Brooklyn, and here’s your medicine. I’m going home, my duty has ended. If you need anything, ask Sally through the intercom, just dial 402.” Brooklyn nodded absent-mindedly, her mouth-watering at the sight of food.
“And don’t even think of escaping since Sir has set up an alarm everywhere. If you attempt anything, you’ll get caught and you cannot imagine what punishment sir will inflict upon you,” warned Kathy. Brooklyn sighed at her fate.
“I don’t have the energy to escape. Where will I go? I have no home,” said Brooklyn helplessly as Kathy looked at the poor girl with sadness in her eyes. She looked so helpless that she wished that Cupid would strike her master and he would just fall for her hard and marry her instead. How could someone bear a grudge against such a beautiful and innocent soul?
Maybe her wish was coming true as she’d seen the way Nikolas had carried the girl in his arms, as if she was precious. She had never seen this side of her employer
