Chapter 13. Working for Him
A knock on the door brought him out of his reverie. It was Bruce.
“Yes?” he asked impatiently, glancing at his watch to see that fifteen minutes had passed by since Brooklyn had left his study room. He realized he had asked her to get ready to go with him. He looked at Bruce, fidgeting near the door.
“What’s the matter, Bruce?” he growled impatiently, getting up to freshen up and change for work.
“Sir, Peterson has resigned this morning because of personal reasons,” Bruce informed him, looking a little alarmed. He knew what was in store for everyone at office today, considering the foul mood his boss was in.
Ron Peterson was his boss’s trusted PA and manager and had been serving them since the time of David Ardolf. Nickolas could blindly trust him and leave the entire estate in his care while he was away. His resignation was an enormous blow to him, and he just stared at Bruce with disbelief.
