Chapter 18. Desiring Her

Kathy went away to serve his food in his room, and Nikolas got up reluctantly. He was clueless why he didn’t want to leave her room. There were so many things he wanted at that moment, but he knew it couldn’t happen. He was the devil without a heart! But mostly, he was ten years older than her, unlike those younger guys!

His jaws clenched with frustration. Why did he have to be so much older than her? No wonder she cringed at his proximity. “Call me on the intercom if you need anything. Sally wouldn’t be coming in, so just dial 405.” Nikolas left her room in a haste, frowning at his reaction to her.

He had never reacted to any girl in this way in all his twenty-nine years of life. He hadn’t felt the need to protect anyone in this manner. Worried about his strange reaction to Brooklyn, he showered, changed, and ate his food. Kathy cleared his dinner and left for the day. It was already late and Bruce dropped her home.
