Chapter 16. Rescuing Her

“What happened, miss? Are you waiting for someone to take you home?” the guard asked with a frown.

She shook her head and swallowed the lump in her throat. His fake concern enraged her, and she walked away from him towards the backside of the building. Crossing her fingers, she hoped to find a safe corner to pass the night.

Nikolas stormed into his room after a tired day when Bruce knocked at his door. “Yes.” Bruce peered inside and instantly noted the mad fury in his eyes.

“Kathy checked the girl’s room, sir. She’s missing! I think she might have escaped again. What do we do?” asked Bruce, apprehending a blasting, but Nikolas gaped at him for a while.

Has Brooklyn escaped again? Then it dawned upon him he had completely forgotten about her being busy with Peterson and the training. He had chosen his Assistant Manager, Scott Franklin, to replace Peterson as Scott too was the oldest among all his employees.
