Chapter 14. Settling Down

Michael escorted her to the Accounts Department as Brandon was a good friend of his and his sister deserved a good internship. It would give her the exposure to get a good job in the future.

“What are you studying?” He asked as they waited for the manager, Larry Grant, to summon them. Embarrassed, Brooklyn evaded his eyes as she contemplated her answer. Deciding to be honest, she looked up at last.

“I’m not studying anything right now, but when I save enough money, I’m planning to take up Finance and then a management degree, maybe.” Michael nodded, appreciating her honesty more than she had expected him to.

“You can always start self studying at home. That way you won’t waste a year.”

“I have little funds on me to buy the books right now.” Brooklyn never discussed so much with a stranger, but Michael seemed friendly, and she warmed up to him quickly.
