Chapter 7
The mall wasn’t as crowded as they expected, but when they stepped into the grocery store, Heather let out a breath of frustration. It was filled to the brim.
“Ughhh! What is up with this? It’s a Friday afternoon. Have you all no social lives?” She shook her fist menacingly at the lines and lines of people standing around the store.
Anna shook her fist along with her, equally frustrated as well. Her reason wasn’t that she was afraid someone else would buy the things Heather had set her eyes on. It was that she feared that if they shopped for too long, she would never get to be productive with her day! Things had looked good, but then they completely went off the rails as soon as Becky suggested they visit their mother, and then it had been going downhill since. She was determined not to waste any more time, and that certainly couldn’t be achieved if they spent forever standing in line.
