Heather gasped again, softer this time.

“Oh, Anna,” she breathed compassionately. Apparently, Justin had slept with someone else. That had got to hurt. “Ooh, that meanie head!” she exclaimed, waving a fist. “I thought he liked you! Would you believe he came to me for advice on how to win your heart? Who would’ve thought he would turn around and do something like this!”

Anna breathed a sigh of relief. At least Heather was on her side. 

“I told Becky about it, but she wasn’t very nice about it. She said I sleep with other people, too, so why should it be a problem?”

Heather crossed her arms in front of her chest. “Well, when you put it that way, it does make sense. But it doesn’t matter if it makes sense or not or if it’s logical or not. These are matters of the heart. You’re bound to feel hurt. When Zac flirted with me and I shot him down, I still would’ve been torn to pieces if he had turned around and dated someone else.
