The tension in the room doubled in intensity.
No one—except his wife, of course—had seen Igalmen lose his cool before.
Staff members flocked to his side in droves, offering sympathy in their own way.
Paul offered to buy him a drink, Bethany offered back rubs with a suggestive grin on her face, and Melanie offered to help find him work in her new office, but it was really Heather who took charge.
“What does the client want?” she asked, grabbing a pen and a piece of paper from the table.
“They’re asking to push forward with the event. Listen to the advertising gist, guys. Bakerz—that’s the client—is in the mud, and they’re trying to improve their reputation with this bloody event. Except it wasn’t supposed to happen for a whole month, and I’m up to my neck in paperwork, and I need that brief, Heather...maybe not by Monday. How’s Wednesday for you?”
