Chapter 9. Transformation

“Are you really all right, Richard?” she asked.

“I’m fine,” Richard replied as he stood up.

Winona stared at Richard as he stood up and walked past her. She noticed that Richard’s fingernails had turned black, and her eyes widened. She could already guess what was going on. Especially if Richard wasn’t going to change into his wolf form? The thought sent Winona into a panic. She couldn’t imagine what would happen if it really occurred.

Winona knew that Richard’s wolf form was much bigger than an ordinary wolf’s. He was probably as big as a bear if she remembered correctly. If he changed in the restroom, wouldn’t everyone in there see him? Winona felt compelled to help Richard cover up his identity. She didn’t know what would happen if Richard lost control. Would he attack the people in the restaurant?<
