Chapter 63. Life’s a Mess
"Call me or send me something before you go to bed, okay?" I hear Zeus say it, and I sigh and keep the phone to my ear.
"I’ll try, but I’ll be up late tonight, so I’ll send you a text." I shrug.
"Okay, great. Have a good night, Chloe. I’ll see you on Friday for our date."
I have a lot of regrets, and I don’t know what to do about them. Since we got back together, Zeus has been almost too interested in us. He was always texting and calling me, and he wanted to see me every night and have me stay at his place.
As if our messy breakup last week wasn’t bad enough, the new terms we agreed on at breakfast the next morning made things even worse.
The night before, I was impressed by what Zeus did. That he came to try to get me back, and that he was willing to let me think about it for a while. But when I woke up in his bed the next morning, I felt nagged. I thought I’d done something very wrong, but I couldn’t figure out why.
