Chapter 101. A Royal Breakfast

I did not feel comfortable at all. I forced a smile but my heart was pounding in my chest. It was so weird and uncanny. It was like I was a deer, watching a bunch of lions pretend like they liked me. 

I did not like the feeling at all, and even if I wanted to play their game, I certainly did not know how to play it well. You see, I was not like them. I was not as pretentious. I was able to look in the eyes of someone that I had bad plans for and smile as if all was well. 

That was not smart, it was just sick. I inhaled and let out my breath slowly, focusing on it instead of what was happening, and you know what? It kind of helped. 

I sat down next to Mark while Zach was at the head of the table. The food was already served and the moment I sat down and wanted to grab a plate, one of the maids jumped into action and decided to do it for me, even though I insisted that it was fine. 

I mean, that was a bit fishy. I have had breakfast more than once
