Chapter 54. The Dark Alpha

My heart rate spiked as the realization hit me. This was not Zach. 

The air around me seemed to grow colder, and a chill crawled up my spine. I stayed frozen on the toilet, the eerie silence and those heavy and deliberate footsteps filling the space with dread. 

I did not dare move or make a sound, hoping—praying—that whoever had just entered would leave. 

But the footsteps grew closer, echoing louder across the tiled floor. A shadow passed under the seat door, and I clenched my hands, trying to suppress the tremor running through me. 

“Rue,” A low, deep voice murmured, almost mockingly. “Rue…” This time it was in a sing-song. The voice was familiar and sent chills through me. It was the voice of the dark Alpha. Could it really be Darco or was I still reeling from all the dirty martinis that I had?
