Chapter 58. Expectations

The tension in the room thickened as Zach’s words hung in the air. Elder Robert’s eyes narrowed, his displeasure evident as he slowly leaned forward in his chair. “Alpla Zachery,” he began, his tone edged with warning. “Don’t think because of what happened the last time we met we would just roll over for you at your every command. What happened happened? It was dealt with and came to a compromise.” 

“I did not say that I was expecting you or the others to roll over for me. But I’m just telling you guys how it is. Darco has been playing this game of disrespect for far too long, don’t you remember what he and his pack did to us?” He raised his voice a bit. 

As always, I felt out of place, like I should not be there. I wanted to leave but doign that would just be disrespectful. 

Elder Robert sighed, and then he nodded. “Alright. You’re right. This is not a matter that we should take lightly. Alpha Zach, you are permitted to pay the dark Alpha a visit and quest
