Darco paused mid-stride, a slow, devilish smile creeping across his face as Beta Mark’s question hung in the air. The tension in the room thickened, and a sickening feeling began to churn in my stomach. 

He turned to face us, his hands still in his pockets as he sauntered back towards his throne. He sat back down before glancing at me briefly and then looking back at the beta as if relishing the unease he had caused. 

“Stop playing with us and answer the question, Darco. This is not a game of cat and mice,” Zach said in a strong voice. 

“Calm down,” The dark alpha replied, adjusting himself. “Your omegas are well taken care of, you all don’t have to worry. When I buy them, I bring them here and make sure to tell me the truth about where they’re from.”
