Winter’s POV
“But I still don’t understand why you don’t want to let him know about it? He deserves to know and might also be able to think of a solution.”
“I’m not saying I’ll never tell him. It’s not something we can hide anyway. I’m just saying to give it some time so that he can concentrate on our priority, which is…” I brought my voice lower, “Killing Lordan.”
“We’re only giving it a few days, Eliza, that’s all,” I said.
“What about the king? The king hasn’t bedded you yet; he won’t take the news about this well if he finds out. Which is why I think Lord Lucas might be able to intervene. My lady, please think about this.”
The fact she was getting wrong was that Lordan had, in fact, bedded me. And the child I was carrying in my womb either belonged to Lucas…or Lordan. If Lordan finds out I’m pregnant and doesn’t react badly to it, then Lucas will know I lied to him about not having bedded Lordan.
