Chapter 21
Alex's POV
It was an incredibly difficult decision for me, but I couldn't continue to fight for a relationship that Nathan didn't seem to want. I didn't want to push him any further. Cutting ties seemed to be the only option left for me.
I headed straight to Michael's address, the doctor who was a friend of my father. Finding the address wasn't challenging, but my tear-blurred eyes made it difficult to see. It was almost eight in the evening when I arrived. I pressed the doorbell, and Michael wasted no time opening the door.
He appeared worried when he saw me, drenched in sweat, with red, teary eyes. Even though it wasn't a direct rejection, it felt like my mate had rejected me. Perhaps the flowers held great significance for him, but he shouldn't have hurt me. He should have given me a chance to explain. It didn't feel good. His words and actions were like a sharp knife to my heart.
