Alex's POV

My heart pounded fiercely within my chest, consumed by a creeping fear that threatened to overpower me. It wasn't my own life I feared for, but rather the safety of Nathan, peacefully unaware of the impending chaos.

Taking a deep breath, I consciously chose to quell the rising panic and embrace a calm and rational mindset. I knew that succumbing to irrational thinking would only hinder my ability to overcome the imminent danger.
